Wedding Story: Emily and Terry

  • Like many more, Emily and Terry were impacted by Covid as well as their original intention to marry overseas in July 2021 was dashed through the pandemic. They subsequently reorganized their date for the wedding to April 2022 as well as in the meantime, celebrated their love by having a sublime wedding photoshoot, spending some time across two locations, The Ned and also the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew – the outcomes of which are gracing this site today.

"We had planned our wedding for 4 July 2021 in Taiwan. There had been zero cases in Taiwan for months and incredibly minimal Covid impact through the pandemic, therefore we never thought rescheduling could be necessary. Unfortunately, once we have learned, there is nothing ever 100% certain. After careful consideration, we chose to postpone the marriage and re-kick from the preparation because the situation became more stable. We have finally just re-booked our new date for the wedding for April 2022."

Emily's sublime gown featured balloon sleeves in beautiful, fluid silk, along with a sensuous back revealing cut.

"Due to Covid, we did everything remotely from start to finish. I'm not likely to lie – I was a little nervous about how exactly it would all come out. In the end, the gown was gorgeous. I love that the ball gown wedding dress can be worn in multiple methods to create various looks. You even sent me an additional silk belt to allow it another unique look. I tried on a lot more than twenty dresses – from lace to sequins and several different silhouettes of dresses. In the end, I opted for FeelTimes dress because it's unique and unexpected."

"Terry and I met at the office back in 2010 but had only spoken briefly. Four years later, the universe brought us together again in Melbourne, and also the rest is history. We've lived in London for more than seven many now refer to it as home. It's a location where we’ve built our way of life together and has a really special meaning for all of us." Go

Terry looked handsome in the slick Tom Ford tux, worn with Tom Ford accessories and Burberry shoes. His buttonhole would be a Westminster Abbey rose.

The couple's rings were bespoke Rachel Boston designs.

"Terry and I designed our custom rings together. I love statement rings and desired to have something which I can wear along with my other daily pieces. Rachel's jobs are unique, and elegant but also a little edgy. We couldn't be happier using the rings."

The two shoot locations were so very different yet beautiful in their ways. I love the natural aesthetic from the Kew Gardens photos, hours that the couple loved.

"We have there been at the beginning of re-opening, so there have been very few visitors at the time. We were so lucky to achieve the entire space to ourselves. It felt so magical and unreal."

    Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Stay true to yourself – don't let other people tell you otherwise. Don't do things because 'you need to' or 'to make someone happy."

"Plan – wedding planning could be a rabbit hole. Now, I finally realize why some people take years to plan their wedding."

"We've never been the kind of people who have a 'dream wedding'; all in our vision came through discovery and research (along with a year of deep reflection) and slowly piecing it into our dream version. Take the time and relish the process!"
